Mara in her own words…

With 9 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, I have dedicated my career to empowering individuals to manage their daily activities and regain independence. Working extensively in community settings, I have supported clients navigating the challenges of injury recovery and adapting to life’s demands. My experience spans both the public and private healthcare sectors, giving me valuable insight into Ontario’s complex healthcare system and enabling me to advocate effectively for my clients. In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy contributing to the development of future Occupational Therapists through volunteer support of the admissions and evaluation process at McMaster University.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am an enthusiastic gardener and have participated in local vegetable-growing competitions. My most cherished win? A prize for the “Strangest Vegetable” for an acorn squash that grew two squash off one stem. In the summer I enjoy swimming, walking, and being outdoors, although I would say my favorite season is winter when she can cross-country and downhill ski.
