Individuals note that this affects relationships with their family members, significant others and changes how they participate in their daily activities. Back at you with another sleep related post because sleep is so important to our life and a common goal we work on with clients. 🛌 💤 There could be many reasons why our clients are sleeping during the day. It could be because they are not getting good enough quality or quantity sleep at nighttime, in which case, occupational therapists could provide strategies on sleep hygiene. It could also be because they do not have enough structure or routine into their day and are potentially sleeping/napping out of boredom, in which case occupational therapists are positioned to help clients explore meaningful activities that meet their functional abilities to improve their daily life!

Often, our clients experience many financial barriers following a collision. Some individuals are unable to return to work due to their injuries, which causes a significant shift in the way that our clients manage their finances. As occupational therapists, we assist clients with developing financial management strategies. We can assist with researching and applying for grants that are available for certain expenses.

Another fun part of our role as OT’s is getting

Another fun part of our role as OT’s is getting to put together equipment and tools for our clients. We impress ourselves with our ability to assess our clients, determine the need for an assistive device or tool, select the appropriate equipment and then channel some building skills to put it together! Tools such as this bed rail drastically improve the functioning of our clients.
